Over its hundred year history, this community playhouse has been home to theater productions featuring such actors as Katherine Hepburn and Ethel Merman. A gracious set of granite steps and a bluestone walkway replaces a steeply sloping concrete sidewalk. A native fieldstone retaining wall creates a level area, including a bluestone terrace, gathering space and planting beds.
These improvements provide for much needed outdoor space for special events and intermissions. Ornamental plantings, many provided by volunteers, animate the improvements. Handicapped parking and access were added as part of the renovations to the theater.
