This historic house was purchased by a young and active family wanting to have all the perks for modern entertaining and outdoor living. The site had been neglected with a sloping yard that left no place to ‘hang out’. Employing a strategy of terracing the hillside, we created distinct levels.

The upper level, with an impressive outdoor kitchen and pizza oven, progresses downhill to a second level where the water views are conducive to relaxation while gathering around a fire pit. Each level utilizes beautiful native stone work leading you back home to the house through softened edges with animated ornamental and native plantings. A special native maple tree is celebrated and adjacent erosion is remediated with low shrubs, groundcovers, and a garden of moss. The restored habitat welcomes summer colors as a beautiful backdrop for outdoor entertaining.
