The owners of a shingle-style farmhouse wanted to renovate their vegetable garden: to have a productive garden that also provided substantial ornamental interest. The context of the garden includes views to historic fieldstone walls and second growth woodlands. A mowed lawn path leading to the vegetable garden is vegetated with native shrubs, wildflowers and ferns which provide seasonal interest as well as habitat for birds and pollinators.
APA simplified the lines of the garden with a gridded bed layout. Berry bushes and vines surround the perimeter of the garden. Square vegetable and flower beds frame a central lawn panel.
