As part of a larger master plan for this 16 acre land trust property, APA provided conceptual plans for habitat restoration that are phased per land trust schedule and budgeting. APA has worked extensively with land trust volunteers and ecologists to develop strategies that enhance and restore the native landscape of this well used and beloved open space. The planning and installation process will also serve as an educational and demonstration project for native plantings, wild life habitat and low maintenance landscaping.

The first phase of the project entailed the establishment of an oak grove on the high ground of the site. The second phase (sketch) oultined invasive management protocols as well as a planting plan for a native hedgerow.

Further development of the parcel of land has included a pollinator garden of natives and wildflowers to attract butterflies.

APA's plan featured in Essex Woods and Waters, Winter 2014.
