Over its hundred year history, this community playhouse has been home to theater productions featuring such actors as Katherine Hepburn and Ethel Merman. The site enhancements accompanying a complete building restoration included a gracious set of granite steps and a bluestone walkway that replaced a steeply sloping concrete sidewalk. A native fieldstone retaining wall creates planting beds and a level bluestone terrace that serves as a gathering space for theater intermissions and special events. Ornamental plantings, many provided by volunteers, animate the improvements. Handicapped parking and access were added as part of the theater renovations.
